So does the game specify a size or scale, or is that up to me? Is matchbox size reasonable? I have store credit at Target, may grab on to some. They have a smaller car as well, Driven is the brand.

gaslands is made to use Matchbox/Hot Wheels sized cars

I like the van!

Sag, if you want extra fun mix the car types you get a little if you see the opportunity---they have rules for a bunch of broad types (sports car, car, pickup, heavy truck etc) and mixing them highlights the system a bit.

I was think about buying a few random packs from Target and seeing what I would get. But the emergency vehicle pack did catch my eye.

I suppose I should buy the rules first, eh? Just dreaming about at the moment.

If you print and cut out the movement templates and buy a pack of cheap hotwheels from target or whatever your total buy-in to get to the table should be like $25 max :)

It’s also at Target with a different cover but seems to be the same book. I have $52 in store credit, I may get this entire game (including trucks and bikes!) at no charge. Kind of takes away all the items in the “cons” column.

Should I pick vehicles by hand, or just send a pack to each of my buddies blind and we all show up with whatever we got?

That's just placeholder art and not a different cover, but yeah, same book.

Either way works. Different vehicle types have different stats and costs, but if you don't mind a little imbalance for your first game, just give everything a front facing machine gun and go.

I finally played Gaslands :laugh: it was fun! Everyone involved wanted to play it again, and were excited about building their own cars and stuff. I was in the running until my lead car got head onned by the leaders second car who had been sent on interference duty (ie forgetting the gates and kamikazing straight into whoever looked like they were catching up).
