I couldn't fill in the survey because the option "it depends" was missing. I prefer Cyclades with 5, but would play with any number. Maria, one of my favourite games, plays three and three only. My favourite game is the game that suits the persons and the mood present.
I like quality components but not for any price.
My advice is: make a game you would want to play, then play it a lot. Have it playtested by strangers, like on Table Top Simulator. Don't kickstart before it's REALLY done.

Yeah, don't design by survey. Make a game that works and is engaging, not one that plays in 95 minutes. If you set inappropriate goals you'll likely achieve them.

I looked at the survey last night and bailed because it wasn't asking questions that I think a designer/developer should be asking. I just didn't have answers to questions that aren't something that concerns me at purchase time.

They say they are developers, not designers. So maybe their job is to figure out what is going to sell, and make designers miserable by telling them that they need to change the game so it can play 1-8 people in under an hour.
