I was at Target tonight buying Easter candy for this weekend and I saw a dad with his 4-year-oldish daughter and she was pointing at a big Batman toy from Batman vs. Superman and it's Batman in his huge Superman fighting suit and she says "that's a bad guy." And her dad is trying to explain to her how Batman is a good guy. I don't think he succeeded.

More good news! Jimmy Olsen gets killed early on, not even named outside of the upcoming EXTREME IN YO FUCKIN FACE R-rated version. I'm not joking, Superman's pal Jimmy gets a bullet to the head. Right in front of Lois. Snyder's reason? Jimmy didn't fit in their vision of the DC universe, so rather than do the sane thing he thought he could still have some "fun" with him. That's his words, it was "fun." Bring the whole fucking family to see Jimmy Olsen get butchered!

Shame on us for ever finding hope or joy in any of these characters.

I just came on to comment about that, my friend saw it and he told me about this...he sid this actually bothered him more than Batman killing people.

How utterly disgusting...pretty much all of the golden age pioneers of comics are rolling in their graves. How sad is it that a character that has always been innocent, fun and morale gets killed execution style in it without even being names.

Of course, once you have Superman killing people you've pretty much crossed the point of no return.

They do the whole Doomsday/"death of Superman" thing...which was pretty dumb to begin with.

But then again, so was Knightfall, and fuck everyone, Dark Knight Rises is really good.

Also, Bats and Supes fight for all of 5 minutes and stop once Batman finds out how Superman's mother was also named Martha. It sounds like I'm joking, but that's 100% legit. How that comes up in conversation is entirely forced, as Superman lies defeat and starts calling out for her.

Oh, man, this movie sounds even worse than it looked. I hope Marvel steers well clear of trying to emulate anything that goes on here...even if it (unfortunately) makes money.

Ugh, no kidding. I was hoping it would be a fun-bad movie to take my sons to but after the first reviews rolled out I knew it wouldn't be worth paying to see. Hopefully Suicide Squad - if it somehow turns out to be terrible - will be entertaining in its badness.

I made a commitment to go watch it on Monday with some friends from out of town. FFS I am not looking forward to this.
