Article/Blog Bar

Article/Blog Bar was created by Schweig!
I have to say that the article/blog bar (the one between the ad and the forum) has become pretty useless to me. There used to be one or two entries per day, now there are more, which is good of course, but when combined with the fact that it's also moving now, and at quite the speed, I can't use it any more to quickly access the most recent articles, which is what I used the bar for.

Maybe this can be improved upon, but unfortunately I don't know how. Making it not move would help I guess, but I would be most comfortable given the option of removing it.

I agree with this, although I don't want it removed. I'd prefer it not moving, but with the scrollable arrows like before.

You have restored my faith that some of our members know how to use standard internet tools. I was getting complaints from people who didn't realize that the little arrows on either side of the bar allowed them to scroll through the titles, that the top bar only showed the first three articles/blogs/news/ so they were missing out on earlier ones.

I'll slow it down and we will see how that goes. You can also click on one of the dots below the scroll bar to go to a specific page on the list. It will then pause for a longer period time on that page.

PS

The 'What's Happening on the Fort' Tab shows a static list of the same articles.

The new speeds seems OK, I'll see how that works out.

Yes, that's what I used the last days, rendering the moving bar a little useless.

Less useful to you, but more useful to users who don't realize that there is more than one page of articles listed and who don't realize that they can use either the arrows or the dots to see what is on those other pages.

I consider the upper tab as a tool for our power users. The article/blog bar at the top of the forum is more of a 'newsflasher' for our more casual users.

Anyway, we will try it this speed for a while and adjust as needed.
