People want F:AT to have features like those on Facebook that allow you to collapse, block and filter content based on their personal preferences, but with a better user interface. They don't appreciate or are unaware that F:AT is a non-profit site run by volunteers using several inexpensively purchased software packages that have only slightly more flexibility than a WordPress blog, which are then slightly hacked to make them all work together; and not by a for-profit company that has paid programmers writing custom propriety code.
The rest of this thread was moved due to the fact that it went off topic, however I have kept this answer to the OPs original question here as a record of the suggestion should this feature become feasible in the future, and for other members' future reference.
