I'm losing count of the number of reasons I think this would be a terrible idea.

I day-tripped to the WBC this past summer and it was an absolutely glorious day, so we played outside the tent at a table next to the pool. My gameplay was significantly diminished by several ladies that were not at the hotel for the convention.

If I'm going on a cruise I'm not going to spend the time playing boardgames.

Sag.

Where is the "No" button on the poll?

I'm with Sag, if I ever were going to go on a cruise, it certainly wouldn't be to play baordgames. I'd be swimming, seeing the various sights of the Carribean or whatever.

Too bad. I already made vacation plans to fly to the Alps to play Lost Cities in a ski lodge.

Exactly. Having just been on a cruise, it is not cheap - but totally worth it to enjoy the on board entertainment, sure, but mostly to enjoy the ports of call! Carribean beaches! Even if you took your board games on the BEACHES of these tropical islands, how could you possibly enjoy the setting/weather/ambiance/beauty?

Biggest waste of money ever.

No is too negative for the over-sensitive types over there so Aldie got rid of it.

I love Cruising!! (5 so far and always ready for another) I would play a few games at sea but not while you're in port. usually the entertainment during the day is so-so so sitting by the pool sipping fruity drinks and playing gmaes sounds good to me. I wouldn't be going for the gaming though- that would just be an afternoon diversion.

My dad does Bridge Cruises. He seems to like it. They do all the regular cruise things, but bridge is one of the major activities on board. It's good for people who get bored of sitting around the pool, or who have to limit their sun exposure time.

Reason #754:
Fanny packs leave tan lines.

Nice idea.

I have some trepidation about the idea for two reasons:
1. The average Eurogamer seems to really like the idea of gaming 24/7. Getting away from the table for long enough for a proper meal is unbearable. Every time we go out at...one particular con...there is always some twit who is anxious to get back because he has gone for a whole hour without playing games.

Admittedly, Herr Tank Top starts making "let's play a 2 player game" noises if there is 5 minutes before other people are supposed to show up.

2. Sandi in close proximity to gamers for a week. I'm pretty sure blood would be spilled.

It would be a great idea (due to the people who would be on it) if it was in a piece of water with a higher iceberg density ..... or perhaps off the Somali coast.

I hope everyone has a good time. :)

I'll be hiking into the Alps that week so I can play Lost Cities with the barefoot killer.

I'm have visions of a bunch of fat bearded Eurogames sitting by the pool in Euro speedo bathing suits playing Agricola. I know I'm going to have nightmares tonight.

We need to contact the shipping company and convince them that 200 complimentary copies of Monopoly would be a great welcoming gesture.
