I swear I read that "man candles" and wondered what the hell Avery was talking about.

Dude! I did too. I thought they were supposed to light them aflame and stick them up each other's asses or something.

I'm back from Scotland. (from my last post...) Seriously. I actually went there. :)

Anyway... having Steve on the forums here at F:AT is really the perfect place for him. I don't know why he even wants to go back on BGG anyway. F:AT is the perfect place for letting Steve's brand of cannon fodder fly... and he gets respectable moderation no less. However, this last *Utimate Podcast* took on all of the strange overtones of a 18 hour personal courtroom deposition ala:

The Community of BGG v Steve Weeks.

Ironically, Octavian (Matt) is one of the most fair of all the moderators at BGG... so why grill him about perceived inequities in the BGG system? Matt was pretty good at parrying off the cross examination, however.

Anyway, I am also curious why, in Steve's eyes, that before Mr.Skeletor disagreed with Steve, about anything... that Mr. Skeletor could do no wrong but now that there is a philosophical parting of the ways, Mr. Skeletor is ALL wrong? Makes no sense.

Anyway, I would like to see *The Mad Gamer's* next guest on his show be.... *The Mad Gamer* Why not? He is the favored topic on the Ultimate Podcast, after all... B)

Narcissism at its finest.

And so round and round we go...

Glad to here you went to Scotland. Nothing like bagpipe music to clear out the cobwebs from the brain and from this post it doesn't look like you heard a note of the stuff!!!

Anyway... having Steve on the forums here at F:AT is really the perfect place for him. I don't know why he even wants to go back on BGG anyway.

You didn't listen to the podcast Ryan. I explained very clearly why I wanted to go back on BGG. I didn't want people to think I posted anything really vile or did any kind of serious crime. Posting a geeklist about Greg Schloesser and creating a sock puppet account does not qualify as any real crimes for people who live in the real world like I do.

F:AT is the perfect place for letting Steve's brand of cannon fodder fly... and he gets respectable moderation no less.

Respectable moderation, yes. mature moderation, no. Did you notice my "Wanker" badge? That is Skeletors handy work. He pitched a hissy fit when I cleaned his clock. HA!

However, this last *Utimate Podcast* took on all of the strange overtones of a 18 hour personal courtroom deposition ala:

The Community of BGG v Steve Weeks.

The podcast was about an hour, I spent about 30 minutes talking about BGG moderation and 30 minutes on other topics.

Ironically, Octavian (Matt) is one of the most fair of all the moderators at BGG... so why grill him about perceived inequities in the BGG system? Matt was pretty good at parrying off the cross examination, however.

Octavian is a super nice guy and no doubt I would enjoy gaming with him but he has no clue about forum moderation and in terms of being fair, he is nowhere in the ballpark.

I received a 30 day ban for this geeklist.

While other posters post pornography and the foulest language you will ever see and skate by without as much as a warning. Some posters post some of the most controversial topics about religion and sex and it is so funny to me that I am called "controversial" for the simple reason that I refuse to endorse the meeple.

That being said, it may not be Octavian's fault. He admits on the podcast that he is a follower and not a leader. There is nothing wrong with this, after all we can't all be leaders. But his attitude was just a little too submissive for my tastes and smacked of the "hive" mentality that I have complained about many times in reference to BGG.

This "hive" mentality is extremely dangerous. Some may laugh and say its only a boardgame site with a kindergarten social club forum and you may be true. But I say it is a slippery slope and you shouldn't let an injustice slip by even when it seems minor for when a big injustice comes your muscles may be too flabby to fight!

The above quote is really funny because it is the same thing Skeletor does with a lot of his posts. He changes the facts to fit his argument and then tries to hammer his case home like an Aussie Matlock!

The only thing I agree with Skeletor about is some of the games he plays. I think he is TOTALLY wrong about his opinion of what a game review should be and that is just one example of where I disagree with him. You can find details on my podcast with him.

Narcissism at its finest.

Horse Dung. You guys at Boardgame news are the very definition of narcissism. Even the name of your site is a bunch of crap!

The only news you give is in your "Gone Cardboard" section which is a holdover from Rick Thornquist.

The rest of your articles are just a bunch of noncommitted reviews that are more painful to read than a BGG technical update!

In fact, I think I mentioned your elite ass on my last podcast Ryan. I talked about how you were tired of the fantasy themes and quoted the "Wizard's Gambit" review from Eric "I got burned by Barnes" Martin.

I bet you "Asian Woman magazine" reading gamers can't wait for "Wasabi" to come out so you can have a sushi party and play that game!

Well, at least you found your way over here to a real gamers website.

Steve,

You are my favorite comedic foil. I am only glad that you get to grace us here at F:AT, where your brand of entertainment is... well, entertaining. :)

But to your points:

1. I'm not even worth mentioning on your podcast. In fact, you should be saying that to me... not vice versa.

2. Yes. I'm tired of fantasy themes. Never have been a fan. Fortunately, the denizens of F:AT don't hold it against me. But I'm also tired of the same old Euro themes too. I really just some games that are fun to play, man. Only Pandemic really looks good to me this year.

3. Eric Martin is the editor of BGN; not me. I don't necessarily agree with where he takes BGN sometimes... but guess what? He's not asking my opinion about it either. I respect his role as editor. He respects my free thinking. So we're good. I only write articles, dude. And I think most people here would agree I give an opinion. ;)

4. I climbed Ben Nevis this year. So for 2008 yes, I am elite. (LOL) And proud of it! Oh, and my magazine subscription is to National Geographic Adventure. Great read; you should give it a look.

I now turn you back over to Mr. Skeletor. Cheers.

Ryan B.
