Send me the address, I'll be right behind you with my copy of Case Blue under my arm.

Jeeeezus! That is old.
I remember buying a copy of the computer game which came on 5 inch floppy discs. Just about the worst implementation of a game on computer ever.

Completely.
I also had my first eye test in nearly seven years just for good measure as I found, even with my old and trusty glasses, when the daylight was no longer bright I struggled to read the small text on cards found in most games I own (usually FFG small cards or games where they try and print 10% of the rulebook on every card).
So, yeah - I'm old.

In my experience, it's not age per se, but point of entry and level of involvement.Shellhead wrote: Is it possible that there is a strong correlation between age and the preference for AmeriTrash-style games?
Most gamers my age who play boardgames can be split on two broad categories that have some overlap.
The first is people who got into games through video games, Magic or Warhammer 40K. They tend to seek games based on "what they are about" so they pick up Chulthu games, dungeon crawlers or branded games like Star Wars titles. These are all Ameritrash games, but, generally they don't play Nexus Ops or Fury of Dracula.
The second are nerds that get into boardgames through the social angle. They used to play Munchkin, Speed Jungle and Bang!, now they play Dixit, Mysterium, Social deduction games, etc.
I'm a weirdo not so much because I like games like The Republic of Rome, 1825 or A Most Dangerous Time, but because I like games that aren't sold at the local hobby shop.
