More Portal. That's a good thing, but it doesn't have that refreshing feeling the first one had when I played it.

Portal 2 was refreshing for me when I played it because, thanks to everyone constantly screaming "TEH CAKE IS A LIE!!!1!!" they hadn't bothered to ruin moments from the second one. I liked it, but I felt it went on a bit long and the Cave Johnson thing kind of got old for me before they were done with it. Still a great game.

The nerds ruined Portal 2 for me, though even if they hadn't, I still wouldn't like it. Don't like either game yet played both all the way through for some reason.

The nerds? You mean all of us? I'm sorry I ruined Portal 2 for you.

How did nerds ruin Portal 2 for you? I"m confused.

I bet I'd enjoy Cake Johnson even more now after Whiplash. But it was that british dude that did the voice of Wellsley or what ever Guilty Spark's name was in Portal 2. I loved that guy and was always laughing.

I loved both Portals because of the puzzles. The stories were fine and pretty funny at times but the puzzles were what kept me going. I got to play Portal 2 coop with my best friend who lived in Texas at the time and we had a blast. Long before that we used to meet at his college dorm to play games like Myst, Riven, 7th Guest, and Amerzone on the same computer. We would just take turns at the puzzles. Awesome times.

There's a sweet Humble Bundle going on right now: Dragon Age Origins, Dead Space 2, Allied Assault Warchest, etc.

If you pay more than the average, you get other cool stuff as well: Mass Effect 2, Garden Warfare, etc.

Note: This is an Origin bundle, not a Steam bundle - though some games provide both codes.

for anyone thinking of wkover's deal, let me say that both Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect 2 are incredible gaming experiences.

Child of Light - this is free this month to X-Box gold members so go get it. I had no idea what to expect when I fired it up and 3 hours later I was amazed at how much time had passed. The atmosphere is incredible and if nothing else play it for the outstanding soundtrack.

Got some funmoney at work and it transformed into a PS4. Befriend jeblucas if you haven't already. I started DIABLO 3: ULTIMATE REAPER OF EVIL SOULS WHATEVER edition and took a Witch Doctor through The Skeleton King. Good times. Oh DIABLO 3, I missed you.

Also played FEZ again, because of course.

Started TRANSISTOR which is pretty as hell and has that same cool narration thing from BASTION. Need to get a better handle on what this game is though. Very in medias res.

And I have HELLDIVERS. If you want to dive into Hell, let me know!

Last night was all SM4SH on the WiiU though. My brother-in-law loves SMASH and bought a Gamecube controller port just so he could come over and play at my house. I broke out the Wavebird and we had a blast.

Played some HELLDIVERS--what a coolly executed game world there. It's basically STARSHIP TROOPERS, with some amazing stat-tracking going on. They are tracking everything that has happened in the game--let us mourn the nine million Helldivers that have passed in their noble mission to spread managed democracy to the hated Illuminates. Yeah, we gotta get the co-op thing going on.

Playing HEARTHSTONE erryday.

Back in DIABLO 3, this time all PS4-style. Have the difficulty cranked to Hard (all I can do the first time through). I am a wrecking ball of zombie/fetish madness.

Klax. Can't get it out of my head. It's incredibly frustrating, it really doesn't work like most puzzle games: It's geared towards the long-term, diagonals are easier and more neccessary than other clears and mistakes are completely punishing, something to avoid completely. But that makes it very appealing too. I discovered how to disable the game-breaking "ramping" that makes the game harder the longer you play on one credit.

I still don't know what to make of it., I enjoy it, yet I also feel very uneasy playing it because I just cannot play it well.

This weekend I started over on XCOM Enemy Unknown. I had previously started with the expansion added in (picked up over Christmas steam sale) and then the expansion launcher suddenly quit working. Nothing I did would get it working, and it was obvious from doing some internet research that not only was it a common problem, but one that 2k was not about to fix.

So after being pissed at the game for months I decided to start over with just the base game, and am loving it. But 2k can still suck it.
