Are GW really making board games? Everything I see from them looks like another spin on some basic skirmish miniatures game. Maybe this one has square grid corridors, and that one has jungle tiles, but it's all plastic dudes rolling dice to hit other plastic dudes.

I think Jem finally defined what Ameritrash is once and for all.

I know you're just taking the piss at my expense but I mean it. These are just skirmish games replacing rulers with set grids.

Ha ha, no man, more at the expense of all those folks like 10 years ago that were tripping over themselves to sort out what "Ameritrash" actually was.

You are correct- the GW stuff is very much variations on a couple of core concepts...I don't see them doing a DOAM, a deck builder, anything like that.

Anyway, I think the pertinent information was buried in the article.

GW are looking for a licencee for Dark future.

Luckily, that's my favorite kind of game.

Dark Future would be great to have in print again. Time to grab Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars from Goodwill.

Do these licenses necessarily mean board games? Dark Future already has a licensee, there's a video game coming out.

If GW is back to pushing board games, then I want them to reprint or update: Judge Dredd. I wanna to fight crime and execute criminals in Mega-City One.

I guess it was just waiting when not if GW decided to pull their licenses. It probably means there won't be a Forbidden Stars expansion (I was really looking forward to seeing Tau and Tyranids) WIth that in mind I'm wondering though.

Is it worth it to buy Warhammer Quest the cardgame or SpaceHulk Deathwatch? Which one is better? I want to get one of them before they become OOP.

I really liked what I saw when I saw the runebound miniatures game, probably not getting it, but I like it better than the Age of Sigmar stuff. I was already surprised that they would challenge GW directly like that but I guess it confirms the rumours somewhat....

IMO, SH:DA is the best game FFG has made that is set in the 40k universe. They did a fantastic job of capturing that surrounded in a cramped corridor feel. It's fantastic. SH:DA has also been complete on its expansions for a while.

I haven't played the WHQ cardgame, but I wonder if it'll feel incomplete with only the few character pod expansions.

It's exactly why we haven't gotten it yet. Perhaps never if this turns out to be true.

And now there won't be any more Disk Wars expansions coming out (that FFG was surely gearing up to release)!

Oh wait, they can release a Terrinith version!

Warhammer Quest Adventure Card Game is awesome and should be purchased by anyone who likes adventure games. It's really good.

If GW and FFG break up, I'd expect to see a lot of this stuff at the FFG Xmas sale.

The guy at the LGS said it's hard for them to keep WHQ:CG in stock. Coming at the tail end of the GW/FFG relationship I wonder if it will be a grail game of sorts down the line.
