GW and FFG Breaking Up?
Chaz wrote: From what it's been sounding like lately, the GW board game design team is doing real well, and I'd like to play their games, so them pulling back the deals from FFG and doing their own stuff is cool on that level.
Are GW really making board games? Everything I see from them looks like another spin on some basic skirmish miniatures game. Maybe this one has square grid corridors, and that one has jungle tiles, but it's all plastic dudes rolling dice to hit other plastic dudes.

I think Jem finally defined what Ameritrash is once and for all.

You are correct- the GW stuff is very much variations on a couple of core concepts...I don't see them doing a DOAM, a deck builder, anything like that.

Luckily, that's my favorite kind of game.

Is it worth it to buy Warhammer Quest the cardgame or SpaceHulk Deathwatch? Which one is better? I want to get one of them before they become OOP.
I really liked what I saw when I saw the runebound miniatures game, probably not getting it, but I like it better than the Age of Sigmar stuff. I was already surprised that they would challenge GW directly like that but I guess it confirms the rumours somewhat....

I haven't played the WHQ cardgame, but I wonder if it'll feel incomplete with only the few character pod expansions.

It's exactly why we haven't gotten it yet. Perhaps never if this turns out to be true.

If GW and FFG break up, I'd expect to see a lot of this stuff at the FFG Xmas sale.
